Weekly Stock Market Overview July 25, 2014

It was a mixed week for the major markets. For the week the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped -139.61 points or -0.82%. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index climbed 0.12 points or 0.01%, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 17.41 points or 0.39%. Read More ...


The Energy Select Sector SPDR sector was the strongest sector (0.86%) last week followed by the Technology Select Sector SPDR sector (0.68%). The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR sector was the worst performing sector (-1.01%) of the week followed by the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR sector (-0.91%).


The Utilities sector is the most overvalued sector followed by Basic Materials, while Oil & Gas Pipelines, Aluminum, and Major Integrated Oil/Gas are among the most overvalued industries. The Healthcare sector is the most oversold sector followed by Financial, while Regional-Southeast Banks, Specialized Health Svcs, and Regional-Mid-Atlantc Bnks are among the most oversold industries.
